One of the most common questions we are receiving right now is, “Do you have any BRC heifers available?”
The answer is yes—but not quite yet.
We are currently sold out of Brahman heifers, but we wanted to share our tentative plans for our upcoming fall-born heifer offering so that customers can begin planning ahead.
This year, we expect to have approximately 31 fall-born Brahman heifers available. These are the oldest heifers we will have available this year and are currently between 8 and 11 months of age. We often receive requests for older heifers, but the reality is that we typically do not have older females sitting around waiting to be sold. Demand for BRC genetics remains strong, and most females are spoken for at a relatively young age.
Of the 31 heifers, approximately six females will represent the very top end of the group. These September and October-born heifers are currently being halter broken and developed as potential show and donor prospects. We anticipate these females being priced in the $15,000 to $25,000 range depending on the individual.
These heifers were recently dehorned and need a little time to recover and continue developing. We expect them to be available for viewing and purchase after July 4. At this time, we have not decided whether these females will be offered through an online sale or sold by private treaty.
The remaining 25 heifers will be offered in several price categories to fit a variety of goals and budgets. Our current estimate is:
- Approximately 6 heifers around $10,000
- Approximately 4 heifers around $7,500
- Approximately 12 heifers around $5,000
- Approximately 3 heifers around $3,500
These females will be released in two groups.
The first group is expected to be available after July 4. We may offer some or all of this group through an online sale, but no final decision has been made.
The second group has not yet been dehorned and will require additional development time. We currently anticipate those females becoming available around August 1. This group will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis through private treaty.
