BRC Ranch Welcomes Texas 4-H Healthy Texas Ambassadors for “Pasture to Plate” Educational Experience

July 13, 2026

At BRC Ranch, we believe one of the greatest responsibilities of agriculture is education.

This week, we were honored to welcome the Texas 4-H Healthy Texas Ambassadors to BRC Ranch for an immersive, hands-on learning experience focused on the journey of beef—from the pasture all the way to the consumer’s plate.

The Healthy Texas Ambassadors program empowers youth leaders to promote healthy lifestyles, nutrition, and agricultural awareness within their communities. As ambassadors, these students are challenged to better understand where food comes from and to become advocates for informed, science-based conversations surrounding agriculture and health.

Throughout the day, participants toured BRC Ranch to gain firsthand insight into modern beef production. From breeding and genetics to animal care, nutrition, pasture management, and daily ranch operations, students experienced the many steps involved in responsibly raising high-quality beef cattle.

Leading the educational program were BRC Ranch Herdsman Connor Thibodeaux and BRC Ranch Director of Marketing & Outreach Brenna Garza, who shared not only the practical side of cattle production but also the passion and stewardship that drive the ranch every day.

The experience didn’t stop at the ranch.

The group also visited The Ranch Downtown, BRC Ranch’s farm-to-table retail store, where they saw the final step in the beef production chain—connecting ranch-raised beef directly with consumers. The visit highlighted how marketing, branding, customer education, and local retail all play an important role in today’s agricultural industry.

By experiencing every stage of the process, participants gained a deeper appreciation for the work, planning, and commitment required to produce safe, wholesome beef while serving consumers with transparency and integrity.

“We’re always excited to open our gates to young people who want to learn,” said Brenna Garza. “Agriculture has an incredible story to tell, and experiences like these help bridge the gap between producers and consumers while inspiring the next generation of agricultural leaders.”

BRC Ranch extends its appreciation to the Texas 4-H Healthy Texas Ambassadors for spending the day with us. We are proud to support educational programs that strengthen agricultural literacy and help young leaders better understand the vital role agriculture plays in feeding our communities.

At BRC Ranch, we believe the future of agriculture starts with education—and we’re always proud to help tell the story of beef, from pasture to plate.
