Rachel Cutrer recently served as a judge for the National Junior Brangus Showmanship Contest at the National Junior Brangus Show in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was joined in the judge’s box by longtime friend and collaborator Keaton Dodd.
Cutrer has judged the National Junior Showmanship Contest across a wide range of breeds, including Angus, Hereford, Charolais, Shorthorn, Brangus, Santa Gertrudis, Braunvieh, Simmental, Simbrah, and more — making her one of a small number of judges to have held that role across so many national breed associations.
She has also served as a professor at Sullivan Supply’s Stock Show University, an educational program dedicated to developing young exhibitors in the show cattle industry.
Judging showmanship at such a high level isn’t about picking the prettiest animal. It’s about recognizing the young person who understands their animal, commands the ring with confidence, and demonstrates the kind of competence that only comes from genuine dedication to the craft. Rachel knows exactly what that looks like — because she lived it.
Cutrer competed as a youth showman and earned national championships in both the Shorthorn and Brahman breeds before transitioning into her role as a judge and industry professional.
She and her husband Brandon own and operate BRC Ranch on the Gulf Coast, a multi-breed seedstock operation specializing in Brahman, Angus, and Hereford cattle. She is also the Founder and CEO of Ranch House Designs, America’s Rural Marketing Agency.
On a personal note, Cutrer is the mother of Mollie Cutrer, who was named the 2026 Reserve National Champion Brahman Showman at age 15.
