Texarkana, Arkansas – BRC, a leading organization in the cattle industry, announces the outstanding recipients of the 2023 BRC Beyond The Banners Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship program is designed to recognize and support young individuals who have not only excelled in the show ring but also demonstrate a strong commitment to pursuing successful professional careers beyond the show ring. This year, three remarkable students have been selected as the winners: Gracie Lambright of Texas, Sorrell White of Florida, and Karli Joyce of Texas.
The Beyond The Banners Scholarship was established with the vision of empowering the next generation of industry leaders pursuing careers in agriculture, business, communications, health care, trade schools, or service. By providing financial assistance to deserving students, BRC aims to encourage and enable these bright young minds to pursue their academic and career aspirations.
The 2023 Beyond The Banners Scholarship Winners:
1. Gracie Lambright of Texas:
Gracie Lambright has demonstrated an impressive commitment to both her education and her showmanship skills. Hailing from Texas, she has not only excelled in various cattle shows but also maintained academic excellence throughout her educational journey. Gracie is one of the friendliest and most outgoing members of the American Junior Brahman Association, and serves as a role model to many young Brahman showman.
2. Sorrell White of Florida:
Sorrell White’s exceptional skills in the show ring have been met with equal enthusiasm for her future in health care. Reigning as the current American Junior Brahman Association queen, Sorrel is a talented speaker and leader. Her passion for agriculture and her ambition to work in the health care field make her a deserving recipient of the scholarship.
3. Karli Joyce of Texas:
Karli Joyce, another impressive recipient from Texas, has not only demonstrated excellence in cattle handling but also shown a keen interest in serving others and inspiring the next generation of young Brahman showman. Karli has excelled in Texas Junior Brahman Association activities, American Junior Brahman Association activities, and FFA activities.
BRC has a long-standing commitment to nurturing young talent across rural America and has, to date, awarded over $70,000 in scholarships through its various scholarship programs. Since 2020, more than 25 young Brahman enthusiasts have received the Beyond the Banners Scholarship. The Beyond The Banners Scholarship is another step forward in supporting the aspirations of the next generation and fostering a brighter future for the cattle industry.
