BRC Ranch Certified to Supply Beef to Texas Schools Through FRESH TRAYS Program

February 12, 2026

BRC Ranch is proud to announce that Lyn Castaneda has officially been certified by the State of Texas as a Farm to Kid Ready producer through the FRESH TRAYS program. This designation recognizes Lyn’s successful completion of specialized training focused on connecting Texas-grown agricultural products with schools and early childcare centers across the state.

The certification confirms readiness to work directly with school nutrition programs and highlights BRC Ranch’s commitment to food safety, procurement standards, and responsible product planning — all essential components of Farm to School partnerships.

The FRESH TRAYS initiative, coordinated through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, is designed to strengthen local food systems while ensuring Texas children have access to high-quality, Texas-raised products in their cafeterias. Through this training, producers gain the tools and knowledge needed to navigate institutional purchasing requirements and deliver safe, consistent food products to schools.

For BRC Ranch, this milestone aligns perfectly with our long-standing mission: raising cattle responsibly and providing high-quality beef that families can trust. Being Farm to Kid Ready means we are positioned to play a direct role in feeding the next generation — not just in homes and restaurants, but in Texas schools.

We are honored to support programs that invest in local agriculture and child nutrition, and we look forward to the impact this partnership will have across our state.

At BRC Ranch, we believe that strong communities start with strong food systems. This certification is another step forward in connecting Texas ranchers to Texas families — and now, to Texas classrooms.
