Ranchers want high quality, practical, functional females, and that was more than evident at the 2026 BRC Ranch “Cream of the Crop” Heifer Sale, held September 7-8, 2026.
This sale featured 50 head of outstanding Brahman, Hereford, Angus, F-1 and crossbred females all bred and raised by BRC Ranch. These heifers were fall born 2025 so less than 1 year old.
- Brahman heifers averaged $9,136 per head.
- Golden Certified F-1 heifers averaged $4,800 per head.
- Hereford heifers averaged $3,814 per head.
- Angus heifers averaged $3,312 per head.
- Crossbred females averaged $3,566 per head.
Two Brahman heifers tied for the high selling lot: BRC Boomba 790 and BRC Rock Me Ruby 777. Both sold for $12,250 to customers in Texas.
The high selling Hereford female was BRC Lady Thomas County 793, who sold for $4,400 to Mississippi.
“We had more buyers register for this sale than any sale in BRC history,” said Rachel Cutrer of BRC. “To us, that reaffirms the tremendous demand for the kind of cattle we are raising. Ranchers across the Gulf Coast, and even internationally, are looking for practical, functional females that can go to work in real-world conditions. We are proud that cattle carrying the BRC brand are being sought out to help build those programs.”
Cattle from the sale will be heading to their new homes at ranches in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Mexico. The sale also attracted bidders from several international countries.
“We are extremely thankful for every person who chose to buy from us,” said Brandon Cutrer. “We sold cattle across the Gulf Coast, but we also sold cattle to people right here in our hometown and in both of our surrounding counties. That means a lot to us. Our goal is to raise cattle that work for the global rancher, whether that’s someone right across the road or across the hemisphere. We also want people to know they are buying from a source they can trust, where cattle are represented honestly, pricing is transparent and sale results reflect genuine market demand. At the end of the day, it’s pretty simple: Treat people right and raise good cattle.”
The next BRC female sale will be the “Night of Champions” Sale held October 19-20, 2026, which will be a show-focused sale. It will feature show heifer prospects, show bull prospects and females designed for producing show cattle.
