Captain Sires Champion and Reserve Female at Fort Worth

January 23, 2025

The 2025 Fort Worth Stock Show once again proved to be a prestigious event for the Brahman breed, showcasing the industry’s finest cattle and drawing western heritage enthusiasts from the area.

While BRC Ranch did not take our own show string, we were so happy to see the many customers who won championships using BRC bulls.

The Fort Worth show ring was buzzing with excitement as +M2 BRC Captain 518/1, a cornerstone sire of the BRC program, sired both the Grand Champion Gray Female and the Reserve Grand Champion Gray Female along with numerous division champions.

Grand Champion Gray Female

  • MISS HC QUINN 180/3
    • Sire: +M2 BRC Captain 518/1
    • Dam: +MISS WCC VIOLET 217/6
    • Owner: Herzog Cattle

MISS HC QUINN 180/3 dazzled in the show ring with her signature look that Captain produces. Beautiful conformation, power, and femininity. She is a result of BRC x Watkins Cattle breeding.

Reserve Grand Champion Gray Female

  • MISS 5H JOSIE 5/4
    • Sire: +M2 BRC Captain 518/1
    • Dam: +LADY H CLAUDIA MANSO 515/3

MISS 5H JOSIE 5/4 was equally impressive, displaying the same hallmark qualities of +M2 BRC Captain 518/1 offspring: depth, elegance, and structural integrity. As the Junior Yearling Champion Gray Female, she shows incredible promise, securing her spot as Reserve Grand Champion.

The Power of +M2 BRC Captain 518/1

The success of both champions underscores the influence of +M2 BRC Captain 518/1, a sire that has continuously proven his ability to produce elite offspring. His progeny are known for their adaptability, performance, and marketability, and this year’s Fort Worth results are yet another testament to his unparalleled genetics.

Captain’s impact goes beyond Fort Worth. His influence can be seen in herds across the globe, as ranchers seek to integrate his superior traits into their breeding programs. Whether producing show champions or performance-driven cattle, Captain’s legacy is one that continues to shape the Brahman breed.
