Rachel Cutrer has been elected president of The Brahman Foundation for the 2026–2027 year, taking on a leadership role with an organization she helped establish more than a decade ago and one that has since raised more than $1 million in support of Brahman youth, education, scholarships, research and breed advancement.

For Cutrer, the opportunity to lead The Brahman Foundation represents much more than holding an office. As a former junior Brahman exhibitor, a founding member of the organization, a lifelong Brahman breeder and now the parent of two young ladies actively involved in Brahman youth programs, the Foundation’s mission is deeply personal.

“When we started The Brahman Foundation in 2015, we wanted to create an organization that could make a real and lasting difference for the Brahman breed,” Cutrer said. “More than a decade later, to see more than $1 million raised for programs benefiting our breed is something everyone who has supported this organization can be incredibly proud of. Now, as a parent watching my own daughters participate in these programs, I have an even greater appreciation for how important this work really is.”

The Brahman Foundation was established in 2015 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to the future of the American Brahman breed and the support and development of programs involving youth, education, leadership, scholarships, showmanship, carcass merit and breed research.

Since that time, donors, breeders, volunteers and supporters from throughout the Brahman community have helped the Foundation invest more than $1 million into initiatives designed to create opportunities, advance knowledge and strengthen the future of the breed.

Cutrer believes philanthropy and service are essential responsibilities for those who have built their lives and livelihoods around agriculture.

“The Brahman breed has given our family so much,” Cutrer said. “It has provided us with a livelihood, friendships, opportunities to travel the world, and most importantly, a community in which to raise our daughters. I believe when an industry gives that much to you, you have a responsibility to give something back.”

That philosophy of giving back has been a consistent part of Cutrer’s career in the Brahman business. In addition to her work at BRC Ranch, she has devoted significant time to programs involving agricultural education, youth development, leadership and the promotion and advancement of the Brahman breed.

As president, Cutrer says her focus will be on building upon the Foundation’s momentum while ensuring its resources continue to create measurable, meaningful opportunities for the people and programs it was established to serve.

“Leadership, to me, is about doing the work,” Cutrer said. “It’s about bringing people together, raising resources, creating opportunities and leaving an organization stronger than you found it. I want us to continue building a Foundation that donors are proud to support and that young people and Brahman breeders can see making a tangible difference.”

Cutrer will serve alongside vice president Shane Bentke and secretary/treasurer Lanna Hensgens. The 2026–2027 Board of Directors also includes Benton England, Kaysee Schulte, Stephanie Lambert and newly elected director Carlitos Guerra.

One of Cutrer’s priorities will be continuing to strengthen the Foundation’s relationships with donors and supporters while developing programs that can grow and remain sustainable for years to come.

For Cutrer, that mission has taken on even greater significance as she watches the next generation—including her own daughters—find their place within the breed.

“There is something very meaningful about helping build programs that your own children and their peers can benefit from,” Cutrer said. “But our responsibility goes far beyond our own families. There are young people all across the country who love Brahman cattle and agriculture. If we can provide scholarships, leadership experiences, education and opportunities that help them grow, then we are investing in the future of our entire breed.”

More than a decade after helping establish The Brahman Foundation, Cutrer now has the opportunity to lead the organization into its next chapter.

And for her, the measure of that leadership will be straightforward: making a difference, giving back and creating opportunities that will outlast any individual term of office.
