An Analysis of Brahman Bull Sire Performance, Genetic Influence and Breeding Program Depth
The AJBA All American is widely recognized as the premier junior Brahman events in the United States. Every summer, hundreds of Grey Brahman cattle compete for championships, making the event one of the most valuable opportunities to evaluate the performance of today’s leading Brahman genetics.
While individual champions often receive the headlines, the broader story lies beneath the surface.
Which breeding programs are consistently producing winning cattle?
Which Brahman bulls are creating champions across multiple breeders, multiple states, and multiple generations?
To answer those questions, BRC Ranch conducted a comprehensive analysis of the official results from the 2026 AJBA All American Grey Brahman Show. Every champion, reserve champion, division champion, reserve division champion and class winner was cataloged by sire, breeding program and award level to better understand the depth and influence of today’s Grey Brahman genetics. Champion performance points were awarded on a tiered system ranking class winners, division champions, and overall champions to arrive at the “Champion Performance Points” value.
The purpose of this report is simple: Replace opinions with measurable data.
By the Numbers
The 2026 AJBA All American Grey Brahman Show included:
- 569 Grey Brahman entries analyzed
- 111 Champion and Class Winner placings analyzed
- 71 Distinct winning animals identified
- 60 Different winning sires identified
Among those results, BRC Ranch genetics accounted for:
- 13 BRC Brahman Bulls producing winners
- 17 Distinct winning animals
- 32 Champion and Class Winner placings produced by BRC Brahman bulls
Those numbers represent nearly 22% of all winning sires and almost 24% of all distinct winning Grey Brahman animals identified during the analysis.
Measuring Genetic Influence
Winning a championship is significant.
Producing one outstanding sire is also significant.
But perhaps the greatest measure of a breeding program is its ability to produce multiple generations of Brahman bulls that continue creating winners for breeders across the country.
That is the story revealed by the 2026 AJBA All American.
Rather than relying on a single influential herd sire, BRC Ranch was represented by thirteen different bulls producing champion and class-winning offspring throughout the Grey Brahman Show.
That level of genetic depth is uncommon within any seedstock operation and demonstrates the long-term impact of disciplined breeding decisions rather than dependence on a single bloodline.
Benchmarking the Results
As part of this analysis, every winning Grey Brahman sire represented in the official results was assigned to its originating breeding program using publicly available pedigree information.
The analysis found the following:
| Metric | BRC Ranch Brahman Bulls | Next Highest Program |
|---|---|---|
| Champion-Producing Sires | 13 | 5 |
| Distinct Winning Animals | 17 | 8 |
| Champion Performance Points | 1,280 | 410 |
The objective of this comparison is not to diminish the accomplishments of other outstanding breeding programs. Rather, it illustrates the extraordinary depth of the BRC sire battery.
Many respected breeding programs were represented by one or two influential herd sires. BRC Ranch was represented by thirteen.
That distinction reflects years of building an entire breeding program—not simply promoting one bull.

The diversity of winning sires was one of the most remarkable findings of this analysis.

*The BRC breeding program includes several influential sires originally bred by Brandon and Rachel Cutrer while they operated as part of Sloan Williams’ V8 Ranch. While those sires carry a different prefix, they are included in the BRC analysis because they represent genetics bred and owned by Brandon and Rachel Cutrer that ultimately became BRC Ranch.
Building the Modern Brahman
Since its founding, BRC Ranch has focused on building what we call The Modern Brahman.
Our breeding philosophy emphasizes structural correctness, breed character, maternal strength, fertility, carcass merit, disposition and long-term profitability.
Every mating is designed to produce cattle that succeed not only in the show ring, but also in commercial production and seedstock operations around the world.
The results documented in this report represent more than one successful show season.
They represent years of disciplined selection and a commitment to building a breeding program with the depth to remain competitive for decades—not just one generation.
Looking Forward
This report represents the AJBA All American Grey Brahman Genetics Report. We look forward to analyzing additional large Brahman shows throughout the year, allowing breeders to track long-term trends in sire performance, breeding program influence and the evolution of Grey Brahman genetics over time.
By documenting objective results and facts rather than opinions, BRC Ranch hopes to contribute meaningful information that benefits junior exhibitors, commercial cattlemen, seedstock producers and the Brahman breed as a whole.
Methodology
The 2026 AJBA All American Grey Brahman Genetics Report is based on the official published results of the 2026 AJBA All American Grey Brahman Show.
The analysis included all Grey Brahman entries competing in:
- Owned Grey Bulls
- Owned Grey Females
- Bred & Owned Grey Bulls
- Bred & Owned Grey Females
Every champion, reserve champion, division champion, reserve division champion and class winner was cataloged by sire, breeding program, exhibitor and award level.
Champion Performance Points are a proprietary BRC analytical metric developed to measure overall sire influence by assigning weighted values to championship achievements. The system is intended as a consistent framework for comparing breeding program depth across major national Brahman events and for tracking genetic trends over time.
Editor’s Note: This report is intended to recognize excellence within the Grey Brahman breed through objective analysis of publicly available show results. Every breeding program represented in this report has contributed to the advancement of the Brahman breed, and we congratulate every junior exhibitor, breeder and family whose hard work made the 2026 AJBA All American a success.
