Boling, Texas – B.R. Cutrer, Inc. proudly announces LAB Brahman Stud of Zoeloeland, South Africa has acquired the Sub-Saharan genetic rights on BRC’s 376/8 “Dutton,” the 2019 Reserve U.S. National Champion Bull.
LAB Brahman Stud is owned by Andre Badenhorst and will hold the exclusive rights to Dutton for South Africa and all Sub-Saharan countries including Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and 27 other countries.
“LAB is excited to bring Dutton to our program,” said Andre Badenhorst, owner. “Both of these bulls will be crucial components of our exciting plan to upscale our stud’s genetic quality.”
LAB operates both a registered Brahman herd and a commercial herd in South Africa, which was an important factor in Badenhorst’s decision.
“We are working hard to improve not just our stud herd, but also to take our commercial herd to the top level,” said Badenhorst. Badenhorst’s commercial herd is used for beef production, and is operated at a similar management system as the USA, selecting sires for calving ease, performance, and beef quality.
Dutton is bred by Brandon and Rachel Cutrer, owners of the Texas-based Brahman Ranch which ranks as the 4th largest Brahman ranch in the United States. Dutton is sired by the equally famous “Noble,” who is the #1 sire of champions in the United States at this time as reported by The Brahman Journal. Dutton’s dam, “Boom Shaka Laka,” is a former two time International Grand Champion Brahman Female and former Brahman “Miss World.” Dutton’s full sister is also the 2020 International Grand Champion Brahman Female, also bred by BRC.
